Terms and Booking Conditions
Last updated: June 2026
These Terms and Booking Conditions (“Conditions”) govern all bookings made with TouringCork, a sole trader walking tour business operated by Patrick Murphy, Cork, Ireland (CRO Business Name Registration: 786146). By completing a booking you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Conditions on behalf of yourself and all members of your party.
For questions, please contact us at info@touringcork.com or through the contact page at www.touringcork.ie/contact.
1. Booking and Payment
1.1 How to book
Tours may be booked through our website (www.touringcork.ie), through our authorised third-party listing platforms (Viator, GetYourGuide, TripAdvisor Experiences, GuruWalk), or by direct arrangement for private group bookings. A booking is confirmed only when you receive a written confirmation from us or from the relevant platform.
1.2 Pricing
Our standard ticket prices are:
- Adult: €25 per person
- Under 18 / Student (with valid ID): €15 per person
Private group tours are priced separately and confirmed in writing at the time of booking. All prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Prices are subject to change. The price confirmed at the time of booking is the price you will pay.
1.3 Payment
Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing for private group tours, where a deposit of approximately 25% of the total booking value may be requested to secure the date. Payment is processed securely via Stripe or the relevant third-party platform. We do not store your card details.
2. Cancellation and Refunds
2.1 Cancellation by you
If you need to cancel your booking:
- Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled tour start time: full refund
- Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled tour start time: no refund
To cancel, please contact us at info@touringcork.com as soon as possible, quoting your booking reference. If you booked through a third-party platform, their own cancellation policy may apply.
2.2 Failure to attend (no-show)
If you do not attend a confirmed tour without prior notice, no refund will be issued.
2.3 Cancellation by TouringCork
We reserve the right to cancel a tour at short notice in the following circumstances:
- Severe or dangerous weather conditions that would make the tour unsafe to operate
- Illness or injury of the guide
- Any other circumstances beyond our reasonable control
In the event of cancellation by TouringCork, you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to a future date. We will not be liable for any consequential costs you may incur, including travel or accommodation expenses.
2.4 Weather policy
Our tours operate in all reasonable weather conditions. Cork’s climate means light rain is expected; we recommend appropriate clothing and footwear. Tours will only be cancelled in conditions that pose a genuine safety risk, as determined at our sole discretion. A light shower is not grounds for cancellation or refund.
3. Tour Conduct and Safety
3.1 Your responsibilities
By joining a TouringCork tour, you agree to:
- Follow all reasonable instructions given by the guide at all times
- Behave in a manner that is respectful to other guests, the guide, members of the public, and the historical sites visited
- Wear appropriate footwear and clothing for an outdoor walking tour
- Inform us in advance of any mobility limitations, medical conditions, or other requirements that may affect your participation
- Not consume alcohol or be under the influence of any substance in a manner that affects the safety or enjoyment of others
3.2 Right to refuse or remove
TouringCork reserves the right to refuse participation to any guest, or to remove any guest from a tour in progress, where their behaviour poses a safety risk or materially disrupts the experience of other guests. No refund will be issued in such circumstances.
3.3 Children
Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the tour. The accompanying adult accepts responsibility for the child’s conduct and safety during the tour.
3.4 Mobility and accessibility
Our walking tours cover approximately 2–3 kilometres of city-centre streets over 75–90 minutes. The route includes some uneven surfaces and cobbled areas. If you have any mobility concerns, please contact us before booking and we will advise whether the tour is suitable for you. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate guests with accessibility requirements where possible.
4. Liability
4.1 Our liability
TouringCork holds public liability insurance. We take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety of our guests during tours. However, participation in an outdoor walking tour involves inherent physical risk. To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, TouringCork’s liability for any claim arising from a booking or tour is limited to the amount paid by you for that booking.
4.2 Your property
TouringCork accepts no liability for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings during a tour.
4.3 Third-party sites
Our tours pass through or near various public and private sites in Cork city. We accept no liability for conditions at these locations, including but not limited to road works, temporary closures, or changes in access.
4.4 Nothing in these Conditions
Nothing in these Conditions seeks to exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by Irish law.
5. Accuracy of Tour Content
TouringCork takes care to ensure that historical, scientific, and cultural information presented on our tours is accurate and well-sourced. However, historical knowledge is subject to ongoing research and revision. Where evidence is uncertain or disputed, we aim to present it as such. We do not accept liability for minor inaccuracies in tour content.
6. Photography and Recording
You are welcome to take photographs and personal video recordings during the tour for private, non-commercial use. By joining a TouringCork tour, you acknowledge that TouringCork may occasionally photograph or record tours for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform the guide at the start of the tour and we will take reasonable steps to accommodate your request.
You may not record or reproduce tour content — including the guide’s narrative, commentary, or scripts — for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.
7. Intellectual Property
All tour content, including route design, scripts, written materials, and digital resources provided to guests, is the intellectual property of TouringCork. Downloadable guest materials are provided for your personal use only and may not be reproduced, distributed, or published without our written permission.
8. Private Group Bookings
Private group tours are subject to these Conditions plus any additional terms confirmed in writing at the time of booking. A deposit may be required to secure the date. The balance is due no later than 48 hours before the tour. Cancellation of a private group booking within 7 days of the tour date will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
9. Complaints
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your experience, please raise the matter with the guide on the day where possible, or contact us in writing at info@touringcork.com within 14 days of the tour date. We take all feedback seriously and will respond within 10 working days.
10. Data Protection
We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at www.touringcork.ie. By making a booking you confirm that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
11. Governing Law
These Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising from a booking or tour shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
12. Changes to These Conditions
We may update these Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of your booking will apply to that booking. The current version is always available at www.touringcork.ie.
